Location
In the Heart of Salzburg
Salzburg is one of the most famous cultural cities in the world. The enchanting baroque city with its fortress, cathedral and castles is not only a magnificent backdrop, but also a stage for top-class cultural events. With breathtakingly steep cliffs, the mighty Fortress Mountain rises in the heart of the city. An alpine rock and the Hohensalzburg Fortress built on top of it, dominate Salzburg's panoramic sight.

Historical Details
The entire ensemble, known as or Roter Turm (Red Tower), is listed
"... The preservation of the "Mayerei am rothen Turm" so-called " " including the wall- and floor-fixed components and the accessories, as well as the garden house, connected by archway, in Salzburg, - berg 15, is in the public interest..." Throughout the property there are unique historical elements that have been restored with incredible sensitivity and meticulousness (for example: butt windows, columns, fireplaces with beautiful details, historical windows, former drawbridge, coats of arms, wood carvings, historical tower room with wall paintings...).
"A 12th - Century Salzburg Fortress Turned Home"
The name Freyburg goes back to Carl von Frey
The " " looks back on a long history and is located in probably the most exclusive part of the city of Salzburg the (fortress hill). The sight of the castle from the salon on the second floor of the Tower illustrates the grandeur of the location. The view of the city and the fortress is simply breathtaking.
The entire ensemble has been perfectly renovated and thoughtfully extended. The core of the former fortified tower dates back to the 14th century. In the course of the renovations by the current owner, which were accompanied by the Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments and the Old Town Conservation Commission, among other things, a conservatory was created on top of the tower and the ensemble was extended by a modernist Cube.
He had renovated the tower, which he had acquired in 1862, by the architect Jakob "in the style of a knight's castle" - with building material quarried from the neighboring rock. Towards the north, a two-story addition with a gable roof and a half-timbered construction was erected. It was not until 1903 that Max von Frey built a two-story addition between the tower and the . Originally, the property belonged to the monastery of St. Peter. In 1822, Abbot Albert Nagenzaun had the dairy farms on the auctioned off. The starting price was 450 Gulden, the hammer price was 1353 Gulden. The Rotenturmmeierei changed hands for 850 Gulden. The new owner was the rain roof maker Theresia Reiter. The tower was two stories high at that time. The attached cowshed was underpinned and had a wooden hayloft on top. In the tower there was a fruit cellar. Attached was a barn with a leaf hut.
